Former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) will win majority of the seats in upcoming general elections. Talking to media persons here on Saturday, this is the first time in Pakistan the elected assemblies are completing their tenure. He said that PPP government restored the Constitution of 1973 and made record amendments for strengthening democratic institutions.

He said the letter written to the Swiss authorities vindicated his stand that the President enjoys immunity at national and international levels. Gilani said that the creation of new provinces will remove the sense of deprivation among the people of southern Punjab. "The parliament is going to complete its tenure for the first time in the country's history," he added.
